Scientists and engineers in hearing science, imaging and photonics, robotics, AI, genetics, and related fields, for research stays or joint projects with our otology and hearing science group.
Graduate students
Students in medicine, engineering, or information science considering doctoral research in Kobe, in areas connected to our research themes.

How to inquire
Please contact us before making any plans. Whether and how we can host a visit depends on its purpose, timing, duration, and the agreements required between institutions, so we ask that you first write to us with your background and what you hope to do.
An introduction from a colleague who knows our department is very helpful, and is the preferred way to begin. If you have met a member of our faculty at a meeting, or if your supervisor or a collaborator knows us, please mention it or ask them to write to us on your behalf.
In your first message, please include:
- your name, position, and institution;
- your area of interest and what you would like to do with us (observe, do research, study);
- the period you have in mind;
- a short CV.
Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine also admits international doctoral students. Formal applications are handled by the university; please contact us first so that we can discuss whether your interests fit our research.
