The 36th Annual Meeting of the Japan Otological Society was held at the Nara Prefectural Convention Center in Nara on October 28–31, 2026.
Associate Professor Natsumi Uehara spoke on how board certification in clinical genetics can enrich otology practice and patient counseling in the theme session "Another Qualification Otologists Want to Have."
Professor Takeshi Fujita presented research on AI-based recognition of surgical instruments in endoscopic ear surgery videos; Assistant Professor Yokoi presented on vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) testing; Dr. Kawamoto presented on the Osia bone conduction implant; and Dr. Furutani presented on middle ear tumors.
