In April 2004, Kobe University has been transformed from National University into Independent Administrative Corporation.
Graduate School of Medicine has Division of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Division of Health Sciences. School of Medicine has Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Health Sciences. Both of the Schools carry out the world first class educational and research activities annually.
