INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH AND TREATMENT

 OUTLINE
The International Center for Medical Research and Treatment (ICMRT) was reformed into the Center of infectious Disease (CID) on April 1, 2009.
ĦHISTORY
  A history of international exchange in medical research between Kobe University and the Asian countries goes back to 1964 when a team of doctors from Kobe University visited Indonesia for medical investigations. Then similar investigation teams were sent to the Philippines and Thailand and School hosted a few JICA training programs in Kobe. Through these activities Kobe University became well-known for its active role in international exchanges. On these backgrounds, International Center for Medical Research (ICMR) Kobe University School of Medicine was established in April 1979 in accordance with the proposal of the Science Council, an advisory board to the Minister of Monbusho in June 1977. The purpose of ICMR was to contribute to the promotion of medical education and research through academic exchange with researchers of the Southeast Asian countries. In 2004, ICMR was re-organized and named IRMCT, International Center for Medical Research and Treatment.
     
ĦOBJECTIVES    
  The aims of ICMRT are to become a core of medical education and research of the world and, through exchange activities by its faculties, to make an academic contributions to international societies.
